Army Sustainable Design and Development Policy Update  

The purpose of this memorandum is to update the sustainable design and development (SDD) policy for Army construction activities.

This policy applies to all infrastructure planning, design, sustainment, restoration, modernization, and construction activities on Army installations (including government owned/contractor operated installations) regardless of funding source, with the exception of DoD Medical [DoDM] funding and privatization initiatives. This includes Army Reserve, National Guard, and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities, as well as tenant activities such as commissaries, exchange service facilities (all types for all Services), and local education activity schools.
